Staff Bio's

 

Aleigh Woodman teaches ballet, jazz, and tap combo classes, as well as hip hop, lyrical and tumbling.

She has been teaching all ages and styles for 12 years. Aleigh was introduced to dance at a young age, but her formal training began as a teenager. She is a BSD and Cyprus Drill Team alumni. Aleigh continued her dance training at SUU and still enjoys taking classes whenever she can at the annual Las Vegas Tremaine convention.

She has a BA from Southern Utah University in Family Life and Human Development and now teaches Preschool for Granite School District.

Aleigh has a great passion for dance and hopes that passion comes across in her classes. She likes to watch movies, do crafts, plan vacations, and spend time with her husband Colton and their dog.

Dance philosophy: “I believe dance should be fun and that every child should come out of class feeling good about themselves.”

 

Ariel Duke teaches ballet, jazz, and tap combo classes. 

She has been dancing for 20 years and has been teaching young dancers for the past 6 years.

Ariel began her dance training at three years of age and has been trained by Jamie and Becky themselves! She was a member of the Hunter High School Drill Team while they reigned Region Champs consecutive years and placed second in state.

Ariel has a BA from the University of Utah in Strategic Communication with a minor in Sociology.

She loves hanging out with her husband Casey and husky Lily. Ariel also loves anything and everything Disney! Yes, she was named after the Little Mermaid.

Dance philosophy: “I believe everyone should bust a move and have fun doing so!”

 

Becky Padgett is the owner.

She began dancing at the age of three and knew she wanted to become a dance teacher at a very young age. Becky trained in ballet/pointe, baton, jazz, modern, tap and tumbling. She performed in the Nutcracker, Dance Productions, with the Starletts, and at many public venues. Becky began her own studio in 1969 and taught dancers of all ages and abilities for 47 years. She taught the Sandy Anderson Dance Seniors for multiple years. Many of Becky's former students have followed in her footsteps by starting dance studios throughout Utah and California. She is continually thanked for her example, true love of dance and her students, and non competitive dance foundation.

Becky loves to travel and spend time with her 11 grandkids, many of which continue on the dance legacy.

Dance philosophy: “Dance is the hidden language of the soul.”

  

Jamie Cole is the Dance Director. She teaches tap, hip hop, and lyrical, as well as choreography, technique and tumbling for the Acclaim competition team.

Jamie grew up at BSD since the time she could walk. She has been teaching dancers of all ages and styles for 22 years. Jamie is trained in ballet/pointe, cheer, clogging, gymnastics, jazz, partner, pilates, tap, and tumbling. She has performed, trained and competed throughout Utah, Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, New York, and California, at many halftimes and venues including Stadium of Fire, Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, the Eugene Jelesnik Show, Catalina Island, and a Cruise Ship. Jamie has received high ranking dance and choreography awards. She was a member of the Hunter High School Dance Company and Drill Mistress for the Hunter High School Silhouettes while they reigned Region Champs consecutive years. Jamie was All-State in drill and State Drill down Champion. She has years of competitive judging experience and was a member of the Nightline Professional performing group. She loves to attend the annual Las VegasTremaine convention to continue her training.

Jamie has a BA in Biology from Westminster College with a minor in Chemistry.

She has a combined six children with her husband Daren and loves spending time with them. She also loves animals, the outdoors, and most anything high in sugar!

Dance philosophy: “Dance should be a safe haven. Dance isn't life, but it sure makes life a whole lot better!”


 Marcee Hilton teaches ballet, jazz, and tap combo classes, as well as technique and choreography for the Acclaim competition team.

She has been dancing for 34 years and teaching for 22 years! Marcee is a BSD alumni and is trained in clogging, ballet/pointe, jazz, tap, and tumbling. She has performed and competed throughout Utah, Nevada, and California. Marcee has taught at multiple studios as well as for the Woods Cross drama department specializing in plays and dinner theater. She has years of competitive judging experience. She loves to attend the annual Las Vegas Tremaine convention to continue her training.

She attended Salt Lake Community College.

Marcee has 5 beautiful children with her husband Chad. She loves spending time with her family traveling.

Dance philosophy: “Work Hard, but first and foremost teach them to love dance and have a passion for it!”


 Sawyer Player teaches ballet/pointe and tap.

She has been dancing for 15 years with a main focus on ballet. Sawyer is a BSD and Park City Dance alumni where she performed the roles of Clara, Sugar Plum, Flower Queen, and Snow Queen. She is trained in ballet, contemporary, jazz, and tap. Sawyer has attended many conventions and competitions including the youth America Grande Prix. She has received high ranking awards and scholarships, as well as performing opportunities with a pre-professional Ballet Company. Sawyer has trained with Ballet West for the past four summers and is currently training with the Utah Ballet.

She is currently a student at the University of Utah.

Sawyer is very passionate about the liberal arts and all things ballet.

Dance philosophy: “My teaching philosophy is very formal and I expect a lot from my students. I am a big believer in cross training and conditioning.”
